UT2003 was released earlier this year by Epic Megagames and Digital Extremes, the designers of the original Unreal Tournament. You can find Jon's UT2003 review by clicking here . The ingame benchmark for UT2003 is wonderful, however, because of pauses caused by using the CD , I've decided to use the benchmark from the demo. There are four timedemos in the demo, two are more CPU bound, two are more videocard bound. Also, since the Radeon 9700 Pro is a high end card, I've decided to do away with lower resolution benchmarking. After all, if you're going to be spending $300+ on a videocard, today, you don't want to really know how 640x480 plays.
A word about the results. Essentially the scores are identical from 1024x768 to 1280x1024. On one run of the benchmark, the score was 0.23 fps higher for 1024x768 than 1280x1024. When you're talking about 100+ FPS in flyby, this is less than 0.2% differentiation and statistically insignificant difference.
