Features

It has the most important features when looking for an AMD motherboard. Especially the CPU shutdown fan problem when using RAID 0+1. But there are some others that we are looking for on a motherboard.

Installation

The Film around the CPU Socket, jumperless and detailed settings, quality components are pluses and that is what we expect from a name like ABIT. Location of the Floppy Connector, RAID and the too close capacitors to CPU are minuses.

Performance

I told you it is like a Ferrari but I know another Ferrari model that can pass this one. And I'm waiting for that Ferrari sample from ABIT and our friend Timucin.

Stability and Compatibility

We explained how we test stability and compatibility. Its really hard to pass our tests if your motherboard is not rock stable. Its possible to pass our compatibility tests with some incompatibility problems because there are millions of hardware combinations you can apply for a PC but 5 cards and 4 drives using all of the IRQ's and testing all of them at the same time is not a bad compatibility test.

Support

When you see ABIT's site you will see how often they upgrade their BIOS's. The site is user friendly. You can find what you are looking for easily. Mail support is like other top motherboard companies. When there are some specific incompatibility problems and they know about that, they work on fixing it, but it is very hard to get an answer in a decent amount of time. But it's the same for all top motherboard companies.

Conclusion

This motherboard is rock solid, fast, and has most of the important features. Quality is undeniable. There will be KT266A motherboards on the market but even compared to KT266A chipset boards this board will be a very good solution maybe with a decreased price tag on it.
