MSI Pro 266 :: Installation

The board was extremely easy to setup. Accessing the RAID control panel was easy, as was disabling the RAID controller for users that are not using it.

Problems arose when I tried overclocking the CPU this motherboard. Jumps between levels of "bus speed (66 to 100 to 133)" are accomplished via motherboard jumper. This is a documented feature in the Motherboard.

However, when switching my P3-650E (capable of 133 MHz FSB performance and beyond) to start at 133MHz FSB, the system would not post. Likewise, simply adjusting the FSB in the BIOS also led to system POST issues.

Even minor Overclocking of the FSB to 103 MHz resulted in no system POST. While Overclocking probably doesn't concern the general end user, for the enthusiast it may be a cause for concern if it is not an isolated problem with this motherboard.

In an attempt to circumvent this issue, I tried overclocking via the utility that MSI provides. They call it fuzzy logic, and it allows for "real-time" overclocking. I still had no success overclocking. Let's hope that this problem is an isolated one and does not affect the whole line.
