The launch of the AMD 6-core CPUs brought new meaning to high performance cost effective computing to the industry. After all, the lone 6-core Intel Desktop CPU was a $999 beast that while outperforming the competition across the board, also costs almost a thousand dollars just for the CPU. AMD has launched their 1090T processors for under $300, making it an attractive option for those that want the ultimate in multi-threading technology without paying the price of an Intel 6-core ecosystem.

GIGABYTE is a Tier-1 motherboard manufacturer based out of Taiwan. They have manufactured motherboards on virtually every chipset imaginable from Intel and AMD. Their 890FXA-UD5 is the ultimate in AMD chipsets available from GIGABYTE, while they also have 880G and 870A chipsets for the more mainstream computers. Todayís review is on the GIGABYTE 870A-UD3 motherboard which is one of the newest motherboards on the block from GIGABYTE. As it is the first 870 board Iíve tested it should be an interesting ride.
