TAMD has a high-end/mainstream mix to their motherboard chipsets. Their recent launch of the 890FX, for the high end and 890GX chipset which included integrated graphics coincided with another, slower chipset, the 880GX. The 880G chipset is similar in most respects to the 890GX platform with the main difference being the clock speed of the chipset being higher on the 890GX chipset.
ASUS has been making motherboards based upon both Intel and AMD chipsets for many years. They differentiate themselves by having the most feature-rich and highest performing motherboards and video cards on the market today. Today’s review is on the new M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 motherboard using the 880G chipset paired with the SB850 Southbridge. As the main difference between this and the 890GX motherboard chipset is clock speed it should be an interesting motherboard.
