The H55H-M motherboard is based upon Intel’s latest chipset, the H55 Express chipset. This is the first motherboard chipset to support the Clarkdale CPUs which are the first Intel Core CPUs to have the graphics on the die itself. The H55 chipset can take any of the LGA-1156 CPUs on the market, with those previous to Clarksdale requiring an additional add-in card as those CPUs didn’t have integrated graphics.

The Clarksdale CPUs have a graphics chip called the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator High Definition or GMA HD for short. The GMA HD has 12 execution units with a clock speed dependent on the CPU. The fastest Core i5 CPU the Core i5 661 has an integrated graphics clock speed of 900MHz. This part is near on par with NVIDIA and ATI integrated in terms of performance.
Intel’s H55 chipset is compatible with Windows 7 meaning that the motherboard is designed to work with the latest Operating System from Microsoft. ECS has included a Curvy heat sink which has more fins than the regular heat sink. This should dissipate heat better than the normal heat sink put on most PCHs by other motherboard manufacturers. Another cool feature of the ECS H55H-M motherboard is the eJiffy application.
