The ECS P55H-A board sports the new P55 Express chipset. This brings many of the Northbridge features to the CPU meaning that control of the graphics card slots no longer requires a Northbridge chip as previous motherboard chipsets required. The CPU provides up to 16 PCI Express lanes for two graphics cards so when two are installed they operate in x8/x8 mode instead of x16/x16 mode that a normal Crossfire motherboard would have.

The P55H-A has a new feature called 4E Innovation. The 4 Es stands for Easy Attach, Easy Button, Easy Clear and Easy Debug. Easy Attach means that you can attach devices to the board without issue as to SATA placement. Easy Button is the Power button on the board itself allowing DIYers to build the system without installing the board onto the case first. Easy Clear allows you to clear the CMOS with the push of a button. A LED shows the system status for Easy Debug.

eJiffy is a new addition to ECS motherboards. It is a Linux based interface for fast booting the computer without booting into Windows. You can install eJiffy on a HDD and after 8 seconds after the computer boots up eJiffy is ready to provide web browsing, photo reviewing and online chat. This is very similar in concept to Express Gate, and offers an alternative if you can't boot into Windows and avoids virus attacks as it is not Windows based. The eJiffy utility comes on its own CD and manual giving users a choice.

Microsoft recently released Windows 7 which is the latest version of their operating systems. Windows 7 reduces the cost of ownership by increasing automation, improving user productivity and providing flexible administrative control to meet compliance requirements. It consumes less system resources than Vista and supports a new graphics API in the form of DirectX 11. The ECS P55H-A board is Windows 7 Certified as well as Vista certified.
