Intel launched the Core i7 CPUs and X58 motherboard chipset last year offering high performance from the motherboards but also introducing a whole slew of new features that required a new motherboard, new memory kits (for Triple Channel memory), and the cost of ownership for that platform took many buyers out of the running. Every high-performance chipset is also followed by a more mainstream version and the mainstream version of the x58 chipset is the P55 chipset and Lynnfield CPUs.

Elite Computer Systems or ECS has been around in the computer industry since 1987, a long time in computer terms. They were the first motherboard maker to be listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange back in 1998; ECS has office in over 60 countries around the world. Their factories have a maximum output of 2.5 million motherboards and 20000 notebook computers a month. ECS has won over 150- awards worldwide on their products. Today’s review is on the P55H-A Black Series board based upon the P55 Express chipset.
