The improved performance in tests like SpecViewPerf and others is attributed to the newer drivers from ATI on their HD 4870. Otherwise the CROSSHAIR performs the best in the gaming benchmarks of the four AM3 motherboards we've tested and a little behind in one or two benchmarks, but within the margin of error of running the tests.
