The X58 chipset has been used in many motherboards and the Gigabyte board overclocks the CPU by 5% by default so performance should be higher than on some other boards without the extra in speed. One thing that should be noted is that using the same components normally should not show a marked performance difference and the spread of 1% is the maximum one would expect.
