ASRock uses a slightly modified version of the AMIBIOS found on many motherboards on the market today. The main menu is split into Main, Smart, Advanced, Hardware Monitor, Boot, Security, and Exit. The Main menu has the System Time and Date, the BIOS version, processor information, cache size, memory installed and the DIMM sockets the memory are installed into.
The Smart Settings menu is rather interesting. Here you can load BIOS Defaults, load Performance Setup Default, load Setup AHCI Default, load Performance Setup RAID Default or load Power Saving Setup Default. There is also an EZ Overclocking setting which allows you to overclock the CPU to 3.6GHz, 3.70GHz, 3.80GHz, 3.90GHz or even 4.00GHz via a drop down menu.
The Advanced CPU menu is where you can set the CPU settings and the CPU Ratio. Note that the Core i7 920 we use for testing is ratio locked so can't go above or below 20x. Under the Chipset Features menu is where the overclocking of the system is done. Note that you can configure many settings in the BIOS I've taken the liberty of compiling the main settings in this little chart:

Using the Optimized OC Tool in the BIOS I was able to overclock the 2.67GHz Core i7 920 to 3.6GHz without problem. Overclocking it further was a bit hit and miss, but not a bad result from hitting a preset in the BIOS to overclock the CPU. Clocking the CPU higher on air always carries a risk and I didn't want to burn out the CPU for testing. Temperatures were around 40C when overclocked according to the H/W Monitor, an amazing temperature.
