The new X58 chipset requires a new test platform and the X58 motherboard chipset is the best of the best available. The graphics card has been changed to the HD 4870 1GB card from ATI with 3GB of Kingston HyperX DDR3 memory used for the memory to run in triple channel mode. Western Digital Raptor HDDs are still among the fastest drives and we kept the two 74GB drives in RAID 0 mode to ensure high speed. I've added X264 HD Benchmark to reflect the High Definition content encoding that a modern system is likely to use.
