GIGABYTE uses the Phoenix Award BIOS with a few modifications for their uses. The main menu is split into Standard CMOS Features, Advanced CMOS Features, Integrated Peripherals, Power Management Setup, PnP/PCI Configuration, PC Health Status, and Security Chip Configuration. The final submenu is called the Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker, where all the overclocking is done.
The overclocking section of the BIOS is fairly comprehensive and reminiscent of other GIGABYTE P45 motherboards with one important distinction. While the EP45T-DS3R supports Intel QX9770, it also supports DDR3 memory and XMP profiles. DDR3 memory should provide higher memory performance versus DDR2 memory. Overclocking was fairly good with this CPU bringing nearly a 15% stable overclock.
