XFX uses a slightly modified version of the American Megatrends AMIBIOS used in a lot of motherboards on the market today. The BIOS is split into Standard CMOS Setup, Advanced Setup, Integrated Peripherals, Power Management Setup, HW Monitor and Cell Menu. The use of the Cell Menu in the BIOS is a bit strange as that is used by another company's BIOS to handle the overclocking and features of this board.

Standard CMOS Features is where the IDE and SATA drives are detected by the BIOS. The Date and Time are also here as well as FDD setting. I really don't see the need for a FDD in this day and age, as everything you can do with a FDD you can either do with a CD/DVD or a USB Flash drive (even flashing the BIOS). Advanced BIOS Features is where the CPU Features, the Boot Sequence and the Chipset Features are located.

Integrated Peripherals is where you set your SATA RAID array to be enabled, enable or disable the onboard sound, the Firewire controller, the onboard IDE controller and IDE Busmaster. The HW Monitor is of course where the temperatures, fan speeds and voltages are monitored. The Cell Menu is where the main overclocking of the system is done. One thing to note is the XFX board has an overclocking jumper that needs to be set before overclocking a CPU.

The Cell Menu is where all the tweaking and overclocking on the board is done. Once you move the overclocking jumper, you get access to a wide array of settings. One thing you should note is that if you have a multiplier locked processor you will be stuck with the default multiplier for tweaking. There's a full range of memory tweaks available and the FSB which is advertised to run at 1800MHz (450MHz actual) reached it rather easily once the overclocking jumper was set. Using air only cooling I was able to overclock the CPU to 3.2Ghz and have stable results, which is not too shabby considering the CPU we are using.
