Intel X58 Extreme DX58SO Motherboard Review :: Test Setup and Performance

One thing to note about the tests here are they are slightly different that those used in the Core i7 article due to the use of the Intel X-25 SSD. All tests were re-run with the standard WD Raptor 74GB HDDs we use in RAID 0 Mode to ensure tests were done on the same system. We used the Core i7 920 CPU as that is the most economical one and overclocks well. The ATI HD 4870 1GB card is a great video card and much more indicative of enthusiast systems than the previous GeForce 8800GTS 320MB for use in this system.
