ASUS P6T Deluxe Motherboard Review :: ASUS P6T Deluxe OC Palm Edition Bundle
ASUS has included everything and the kitchen sink in terms of their motherboard bundle with their P6T Deluxe. One thing that bothers me about some of the motherboard bundles is the lack of enough SATA cables to support the maximum on each board. ASUS includes not only six SATA data cables but also two SAS cables totally supporting the six and two of each device on the board. The 2-port USB and single port IEEE-1394 bracket is a welcome addition for those that need more than the ones on the back panel. ASUS uses something called a Q-Shield which prevents cuts of the finger when installing it on the back panel IO of the motherboard. Everything on the IO Shield is labeled so it is impossible to mislabel anything. The Q-connectors allow the end-user to install the case wires to the FP I/O in one fell swoop instead of individually. The SLI Bridge is a welcome addition to the bundle. The X58 chipset is the first by Intel to officially support SLI on the motherboard without an nForce chip like the Skulltrail systems did. The P6T Deluxe supports both SLI and Crossfire on the same motherboard, meaning that the ultimate hardware enthusiast configuration can be chosen from either NVIDIA or ATI without changing the motherboard chipset as previous Intel chipsets were prone to do. The driver CD contains the drivers for the motherboard, the Norton's Internet Security Software that comes with most ASUS motherboards and the overclocking software in the form of TurboV, ASUS Update and various other ASUS specific software including the EPU software that saves energy by controlling the power usage of the CPU and other components of the computer.
