ASUS uses a modified version of the American Megatrends AMIBIOS for their M3A79-T Deluxe motherboard. These particular BIOS chips are used in virtually every ASUS motherboard on the market. The BIOS is split into Main, Advanced, Power, Boot and Tools submenus. The Main menu has the System Time, Date, Language, and detection of the various drives on the system. Storage configuration is where the SATA RAID is enabled in the BIOS.

The Advanced page is where the tweaking of the BIOS is done. The Advanced Menu is split into JumperFree, AI Net 2, CPU Configuration, Chipset features, ECC Configuration, Onboard Devices Configuration, PCIPnP, USB Configuration. The majority of the tweaking time is spent in the JumperFree Configuration screen.

Hereís a chart of the various settings in the BIOS. Note that I was able to use the automatic overclocking to overclock the CPU to 2.750GHz, using the 10% overclock option. This was using a Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition CPU with 2GB Crucial Tracer DDR2-1066MHz memory. The system was totally stable at that frequency, not a bad result for a CPU that normally doesnít overclock that well.
