Integrated graphics have been the bane of hardware enthusiasts, game developers and even system builders for years now. The state of the art in integrated graphics barely matches the performance of last year’s mid-range system and renders the latest DirectX 10.0 games virtually unplayable on all but the lowest settings.
ATI changed the game with the release of the 780G chipset earlier this year and have successfully launched the 790GX chipset as the successor to that chipset with graphics capabilities that outstrip the competition from NVIDIA and Intel. MSI today is launching a new motherboard based upon the 790GX chipset, the DKA790GX Platinum and that is the board on the test bench. MSI claims this board should do better with Hybrid CrossFire than other boards we have seen so far.
