Networked Attached Server computers are computers that act as file servers using the home network and minimal access to the Input Outputs of the system to support file systems but nothing else as they are designed to store files and nothing else. They differ from Network access servers is a device that acts as an access control point for users in remote internal network or to an ISP. This can be a valuable asset for many different user groups and various media and business purposes.

Thecus is a company that manufactures file storage computer components including NAS systems like the N5200 which is being reviewed here and other similar based products. NAS computers are useful for everyone as a NAS can be used to store games or movie files and is on 100% of the time for easy access by all. Thecus has been around since 2004 with major products being their NAS systems. Thecus focuses on storage needs of the individual, small/medium business and enterprise users.
