Integrated graphics are pretty much a joke in modern motherboards on the Intel side of things, as the only Intel integrated graphics with any kind of meaningful performance is the newly available G45 chipset that launched last month and even that shows mediocre performance. NVIDIA integrated graphics solutions on this side offer improved performance and features over the competition from Intel.

Integrated graphics on the AMD platform have never been better, however. With the launch of the 780G chipset form AMD based upon the HD3200 and the launch of the GeForce 8200 from NVIDIA there is real performance from both chipsets as the integrated graphics approaches the very entry-level discrete cards available on the market today.
