ASUS uses the American Megatrends AMIIBIOS on most of the motherboards they manufacture. The AMIBIOS is split into Main, AI Tweaker, Advanced, Power, Boot and Tools menus. The main menu has the Time, Date, Legacy Diskette A configuration, language and SATA devices. Storage configuration is where the SATA RAID configuration is set. System Information has the CPU and memory information.
Advanced Tab has the CPU Configuration, Chipset information, Onboard Devices configuration, USB Configuration, and PCIPnP configuration menus. CPU Configuration is where you can disable or enable the various Intel CPU features like EIST and Virtualization. Onboard devices are where you disable or enable the onboard audio, the Marvell devices, the Firewire and the Drive Xpert settings.
Power menu is where the APM Configuration, the Suspend Mode, and the Hardware Monitor are located. The APM configuration is where the Power on by means other than the Power button is enabled. Hardware monitor is where the temperatures the fan speeds, the voltage and the Motherboard temperature are monitored.
The tweaking on the motherboard is done on the AI Tweaker menu of the BIOS. The CPU Voltage can be set from 0.8500V to 2.1V (Max 1.75V, 2.1V if OV_CPU jumper is enabled. CPU GTL Voltage Reference (Core 0/Core 2) has a range of 0.370x-0.760x (Standard 0.630x) in the BIOS. CPU GTL Voltage Reference (Core 1/Core 3) 0.410X-0.800X (Standard 0.670x) CPU PLL Voltage 1.5V-2.78v (standard 1.5v), FSB Termination Voltage 1.20V—1.90v (1.1V for 45nm, 1.2V for others), DRAM Voltage 1.80v-3.08v, NB Voltage 1.10v-1.76v (2.06v if OV-NB OV jumper is enabled), NB GTL Voltage 0.370x—0.760x standard 0.630x, SB Voltage 1.10v-1.40v, PCIE SATA Voltage 1.50v-1.80v.
