The BIOS on the 790i only differs a bit from the 780i in terms of overclocking features, but the latest BIOS really adds a bit of dimension to the headroom abilities of the motherboard. The standard CPU we use for testing is not so overclocker friendly, but the new e8500 from Intel is and we pushed that little bugger right up to 4.2GHz using the new Aquagate Max liquid cooling system.
We also changed out the memory to use the latest and fastest memory available the new Crucial Ballistix 2000MHz DDR3. The BIOS offers the user a large variety of parameters to alter the memories timings, RAS/CAS values and voltage. The CPUs parameters are also very tweakable and with the right combination of CPU cooling and memory great overclocking can be achieved with the new 790i motherboard and the latest BIOS.
