The standard benchmarks of our test platform don’t really address video card performance as they’re geared to motherboard performance and CPU performance. In this review we’ll look at the performance of the motherboard against other motherboards with Intel chipsets using our 6750 platform with the addition of SLI scores to show performance increases when two video cards are installed. SLI performance testing was done on two 8800GTS 320MB cards running 169.25 Forceware drivers and Windows Vista Home Premium Edition. As we test more 780i SLI boards’ comparison numbers will also be added.

One thing to keep in mind with SLI performance is that we currently only has one configuration tested on the new platform for SLI. As we move further into 2008 we’ll include performance numbers of more SLI boards to give a sense of performance with two 8800GTS 320MB video cards. All of our standard video card tests were run including Lost Planet DirectX 10 Cave, Bioshock, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. DX10 and Crysis.
