Installation of a motherboard is second nature by now as I've installed hundreds of motherboards in my life. The ASUS Commando board was no different. After screwing the board into our open-air test station, I inserted the Pentium 670 CPU we use for testing and proceeded with "First Boot." First Boot is done with the minimum system (CPU, one stick of memory and video card) to make sure the motherboard works.

After installing Windows and the drivers, I proceeded to running benchmarks and stability testing. The board went through the stress testing without any issues and performed well to boot. I generally like to use a new motherboard for two weeks straight but in this case Doc wanted the board for his own personal test computer and cut it short by a few days.

Windows Vista is the latest operating system by Microsoft. There are two main versions, Vista Basic and Vista Premium. The requirements for Vista Premium are higher and the Commando board has a Windows Premium Logo on the box, meaning that the drivers have been tested for the new Operating System. Installation was a snap, as the SATA drivers are on the Operating System already. Overall usage can be said to be on a positive note.
