EVGA 680i LT SLI Motherboard Review :: Conclusion

In many ways the EVGA 680i LT SLI motherboard is a true enthusiast's motherboard that has many features that will appeal to a variety of users from gamers, to overclockers and those who just want a stable fast board in their system. EVGA will be releasing two versions of this motherboard to the market the A1 or Full Retail/Lifetime Warranty and the T1 a slimmed down version with not as much in the box as far as cables and accessories go and a 1+1 warranty with a registered board. The motherboard we tested is the A1 Version and we have worked it out to give away one of these boards next month in our monthly giveaway to some lucky person.

Overclocking went very well and we were quite surprised at how well the nTune software was able to achieve a 14% increase in the systems clock speed, this is a very good thing for users who want to dabble, but not go balls to the wall in their overclocking adventures. NVIDIA's nTune is very user friendly to the beginning system user and will not burn-up or blow out your system. One note of warning; nTune and Windows Vista do not like each other very much at the moment and it takes a lot of tweaking in Vista to even get it to run at all. Overclocking via the BIOS has all the advanced options needed for successful tweaking and enthusiasts will be satisfied with the available settings.

The board is not as fleshed out features wise as some of the ASUS Elite line, but selling at a sub $200.00 price range makes it a superb choice for those not needing all the extra things like WiFi, games or remote controlled options. These things can always be added later if you want them anyways. There are really no down-side or negative aspects to this EVGA 680LT motherboard, it meets or excels the needs to be the backbone and beginning of any desktop system in today's demanding PC world. EVGA offers their users excellent customer service and with their lifetime warranty on their motherboards is unbeatable so when you buy EVGA you buy more than just the product.
