The bundle for the ASUS P5B-E is typical of the motherboard bundles from ASUS. The inclusion of four SATA cables brings support for up to four SATA drives out of the box. Most power supplies shipping today have SATA power cables but the inclusion of them in the bundle makes for easy installation.

ASUS includes two items of note in their hardware bundle, a Q-Connector and a USB 2.0 bracket. The Q-Connector serves two purposes, it allows the installation of all of the Front Panel IO in one step, allowing easy insertion of the Power Switch, Reset, HDD LED Speaker and other connections. The USB 2.0 bracket brings the total USB ports out of the box to 6 including the four on the back panel.

ASUS Update

ASUS usually offers a wide variety of their proprietary software with their motherboard bundles and the P5B-E is no exception in this regard. One thing I didn't cover already was the inclusion of Norton's Internet Security. ASUS includes the latest version, keeping your new computer safe from viruses and providing a Personal Firewall to keep unwanted people from accessing your computer. PC Probe II is their Hardware monitoring utility for Windows. ASUS Update updates the BIOS through the Internet.
