BIOSTAR TForce 590 SLI Motherboard Review

The Biostar TForce 590 SLI motherboard is an excellent purchase choice for those wanting a Socket AM2 platform for their next computer. The hype surrounding the new Intel Core2 CPUs means that most people wanting the high-end will want to go that route, as a Core2 Duo CPU is faster in most respects than the equivalently priced AM2 CPU. Slapping two processors on a motherboard with dual cores on it does improve performance, but it falls short of the performance of the equivalent Intel QuadCore CPU. The only issue I have with this board is that if you want extra USB ports or Firewire, you need to purchase additional items, as no bracket is included with the board.

I really like the way Biostar bundled their motherboard. Too often, when I open a motherboard box, the contents fall out or are a big jumbled mess. Biostar decided to take the high road offering a black Nylon pouch with individual pockets for the accessories that come with the TForce 590 SLI board. The addition of a headset and a cell phone charger are unique gifts that you won't find on any other motherboard package on the market and with the retail price being just $180 this board definitely is worthy of your scrutiny. This board gets an Editor's Choice award due to the features, stability and bundle. A great job here by Biostar, is this a sign that they want back in the big league?
