The ECS KN3-SLI2 board retails online for a mere $119 at the time of this writing. At this price point, the board makes a compelling argument as you get the performance and features of the nForce 590 SLI chipset without having to pay for a premium as you would if you purchase an ASUS board. The issue with 3Dmark05 aside, the ECS board is a good performer and an excellent choice for someone on a budget without wanting all the frills that an ASUS board might provide.
If you're in the market for a dual video card system, the choice of what video cards you want is important. With the release of the 8800GTX and 8800GTS series from NVIDIA, the best choice today is the SLI motherboards, as SLI will not work on a Crossfire motherboard. I would strongly suggest a nForce 590 SLI chipset for SLI owners, as it is the newest chipset available and the best performing. How the merger between ATI and AMD will affect the future motherboard market is unclear.
