ASUS 680i SLI Striker Extreme Motherboard Review :: Striker Extreme BIOS and Overclocking
ASUS tends to use the Phoenix AwardBIOS with their motherboards, and the Striker Extreme board is no exception to that rule. ASUS has made a few modifications to the BIOS that are unique. ASUS's overclocking utility is their Ai NOS (Artificial Intelligence No Delay Overclocking System). The board has a range of automatic overclocks from 3% to 10%. I was not able to stably overclock the CPU to 10%, but 8% (4.104GHz was completely stable.) The AI Booster has overclocking options for the gamer from 115% to 120%. Unfortunately, the 3.8 GHz Pentium we use for testing is near the limits of its core when at 108%. You can also change the FSB in the AI Booster from 960/800, 1280/800, 1000/667, 1333/667, 1200/800 or 1600/800 speeds. The memory options on the ASUS Striker Extreme are really thorough. You can change the tRCD from 1-7, the tRP from 1-7, the tRAS from 1-31 and can change the command per clock to 1 or 2 per clock. The advanced memory settings can be set from tRRD 1-15, tRC 1-31, tWR 1-7, tWTR 1-15, tRCF 1-2. Asynch The Voltage options in the BIOS abound as well. The vCore can be overvoltaged from 0.83125V-1.90000V. The memory voltage can be set from 1.850V-3.425V, the HT voltage can be set from 1.20V-1.95V. Northbridge voltage can be set from 1.20V-2.75. SB Voltage can be set from 1.50V-1.85V. CPU VTT Voltage can be set from 1.20V-1.55V. DDRII Reference memory Voltage can be set from -30mV to +30mV. BIOSContents:
