abit AW9D-Max Motherboard Review

It was only a few short months ago that Intel launched the Core 2 series of CPUs with a full lineup of top to bottom CPUs. Along with the Core 2 launch, Intel released a new motherboard chipset, the 965P, which has made its way into the mainstream market. The high-end market has been dominated by the 975X Express chipset since it was released last year.

abit has changed their corporate logo to the lower-case abit instead of the ABIT that they previously used. Abit released their AW8D-Max motherboard last year. One of the shortcomings of this board was the total lack of support of Intel's new Core 2 CPUs. To remedy this shortcoming they have released the AW9D-Max motherboard to support Core2 CPUs. I would have preferred abit released a BIOS update to fix the issue but they said it wasn't possible due to the PWM requirements.
