ASUS M2N32 WS Professional Motherboard Review :: BIOS and Overclocking

ASUS uses a slightly modified version of the Phoenix Award BIOS for the M2N32 WS Professional board. The CPU can be set from 200-400 in 1 MHz increments. The NB to SB HT Frequency can be set from 200-400MHz in 1 MHz increments. One additional feature is the ability to set the PCI Express bus frequency for each of the two video cards separately from 100-200MHz. CPU multiplier can be set from 5x to 13x (5000+).

Battery and BIOS chip

Voltage options abound on this board, making it easy for the serious overclocker. The vCore can be set from auto to +200mV in 50mV increments. The CPU Voltage can be set from 0.8V to 1.350V in 0.025 increments. Memory voltage can be increased from 1.800V to 2.500V in 0.025V increments.

Overclocked

ASUS calls their overclocking utility in the BIOS: AI NOS (Artificial Intelligence Non-delay Overclocking System). ASUS's board overclocked to 2.86GHZ using AI NOS, a 10% increase over the standard 2.6GHz clock of the board. As the fastest AMD CPU on the market today is 2.8GHz, this is a decent overclock. The 5000+ we use for testing is not a good overclocking CPU, with 10% being about the most I can expect from a motherboard.
