The GA-965P DS3 has a new feature, all solid capacitors. If you've ever had a blown capacitor on a motherboard, you know that the regular Electrolytic Capacitor can and does break off sometimes. It happens on motherboards, it happens on video cards. The GIGABYTE GA-965P DS3 is the first All-Solid Capacitor Motherboard design on the planet, boosting the lifetime of the motherboard.

Solid capacitors

The first S in the DS3 stands for Speed. The board has a wide range of frequency tuning for the CPU/Memory/PCI-E bus speed. The voltage settings are very flexible, allowing for different voltage settings for the CPU/Memory/PCI-Express and Chipset. The BIOS has Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker for automatic overclocking. The drivers CD have EasyTune for overclocking in the Windows environment.

Smart is the DS3's second S. The components for Smart include:

1. Download Center to allow easy one-click driver downloads off GIGABYTE's website
2. @BIOS/Q-Flash, which is a automatic BIOS update via the Net, and the built-in BIOS flash utility
3. Boot Menu, which allows you to select the boot device without rebooting
4. Smart LAN which tells you what LANs are connected, and Smart Fan to keep your system cool.

Safe features include:

2. BIOS Setting Recovery: Recoverable safe and frequently used CMOS Settings
