One thing to consider when comparing AMD motherboards is that the memory controller is on the CPU. That's one of the reasons you see little difference in performance on the AMD AM2 platform. NVIDIA is overclocking the PCI Express bus with their LinkBoost technology to give it a little edge with their chipset, but that is only on their highest-end motherboard chipset.
