The layout of the P5WD2-E Premium is pretty standard. The CPU area is free of obstructions allowing for easy installation of after-market cooling devices on the CPU. The 8-pin power connector is located on the top of the motherboard under the PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports. The 24-pin ATX power connector is located next to the FDD connector and the Molex connector for EZ-Power.

ASUS has headers for two IEEE-1394 connections, and two USB brackets. This brings the support for this board with 8 USB 2.0 ports. ASUS has a heat sink covering the North and South Bridges, cooling them ok. ASUS calls their cooling system Finless cooling system. The Front Panel I/O is labeled so you can't insert the wrong wire. There are three cooling fan headers on the board.
