The packaging on the PC-A9RD580 motherboard is unique, as is most of Sapphire's packaging. The motherboard comes in a white box with a windowed front. The front of the box shows Sapphire's mascot, an rBot, the name of the motherboard, Pure Crossfire PC-A9RD580, the CPUs the board supports, the main features of the motherboard and a sticker with the Sapphire Select bundle on it. The rear of the box has the Specifications of the board.

The hardware bundle Sapphire decided to include is enough to get you started but not much else. One thing Sapphire could have included was more SATA cables, as there are 8 on the board. One lone SATA cable is barely adequate for a motherboard bundle. The SPDIF bracket is a welcome addition, as is the unique I/O shield afforded by the unique layout of the I/O area. A second Firewire port is present on the included bracket. Sapphire could have included 2 more USB 2.0 ports, but chose not to on the Firewire bracket.

Sofware-wise, the Sapphire PC-A9RD580 motherboard comes with more than one would normally expect from a motherboard bundle. Sapphire decided to include their Sapphire Select game DVD. This program allows the purchaser to try several of the latest games : Richard Burns Rally, Tony Hawk's Underground 2, Prince of Persia Warrior Within, or Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30. These games have a 1 hour trial, and then you can purchase them for up to 25% off the retail price online.
