ASUS's A8N32-SLI board is the first NVIDIA x 16 boards we've reviewed here at Motherboards.org. Performance with the board is on par with the SLI boards I've reviewed in the past. I will be doing a more thorough evaluation of dual video cards on SLI and the new chipset in the near future with dual 7800GTs to show the performance difference between the first SLI boards and the new chipset.

NVIDIA is moving ahead in many aspects of their business. Their high-end card business is excellent with the announcement of the 7800GTX and 7800GT cards. Their deal with Dell using this chipset makes for an excellent high-end platform. Further they are diversifying into handhelds and other areas. It's a far cry from where they started with 100 employees and revenue under $100 million.

The ASUS A8N32-SLI scores higher than 40 on our features section. Extra points are given for SLI, Wireless Networking, Dual x16 PCI Express slots working together at the same time. Stability during testing was excellent with no problems noted when a RADEON X1800XL from ATI was installed nor a GEFORCE 7800GTX from XFX. Had ASUS positioned the PCI slots below the second PCI Express x16 slot, the layout would have gotten a higher score.
