NVIDIA chose to use their NV4x core for integrated graphics, a great choice. The 6150 is NVIDIA's first 90 nanometer retail product. The previous NV3x core was lacking in speed and usable features and would have made a poor showing. Key features of the GEFORCE 6150 integrated graphics include full support for Shader Model 3.0 (Pixel and Vertex Shader). I've already covered these features many times in various GEFORCE 6/7 reviews and won't repeat them here.

NVIDIA chose to clock the integrated graphics of the 6150 at 475MHz. With two pixel pipelines that gives a maximum fill rate of 950 Megapixels a second. Memory is shared with the system memory. The maximum amount of memory that can be dedicated to the onboard graphics is 128MB, allowing the user to play games with some semblance of image quality.

One of the big pushes with the new chipset is it is NVIDIA's first entry in the High Definition Audio standard set by Intel when they released the LGA-775 standard and the 925X motherboard chipset. HD Audio provides support for up to eight channels a 192 kHz/32-bit quality while the AC'97 specification supports only up to 48 kHz/20-bit. Another advance is the ability to run two audio streams at the same time such as a MP3 player and a DVD at the same time. GIGABYTE decided to include a Realtek ALC882M CODEC which is HD Audio compliant.
