From my point of view, the ABIT AW8-Max is an excellent value and well worth the purchase. The AW8-Max does offer excellent performance and a solid software bundle however that should please many would-be users.
ABIT is marketing this motherboard as a Digital Video Editing Platform something just starting to take shape in the PC world. The addition of three IEEE-1394 ports and 6 USB 2.0 ports gives you the flexibility you need to connect all of today's various media input devices. One negative of the board is the lack of expandability. With only 4 usable expansion slots, if you require additional PCI devices or PCI Express devices you are out of luck here.
