The AW8-Max BIOS is similar in most respects to other ABIT motherboards using Phoenix's AwardBIOS, popular with many motherboard manufacturers. The overclocking features of the board are enabled through the uGuru area of the BIOS, unique to ABIT motherboards.

From the OCGuru screen you can change the FSB of the CPU from the default of 204MHz on our 3.4GHz test platform to up to 400MHz. In practice, the CPU we use for testing is not very good for overclocking. Memory options on the board depend on the CPU used, with either 533MHz or 667MHz on a 400MHz FSB CPU. Voltage options for the CPU range from 1.4V to 1.75V in 0.025V increments. Memory voltage has a range of 1.75V to 2.3V in 0.05v increments. The last option is the PCI Express voltage control from 1.5V to 2.0V in 0.0 increments.
