Abit AW8-MAX Motherboard Review

ABIT is a leading manufacturer of motherboards, graphics cards and other computer equipment based in Taiwan. ABIT was established in 1989, a long time in computer terms. Today, they are a Tier-1 motherboard manufacturer with millions of motherboards sold a month. They manufacture motherboards based upon chipsets from NVIDIA, ATI, Intel and more.


Abit AW8-MAX Motherboard Review

Last year Intel announced their new 915/925 chipsets to support a new CPU interface, the Socket LGA-775. This replaced the earlier Socket 478 interface and introduced a whole slew of new technologies including PCI Express, PCI Express graphics, SATA2, DDR2 and more. Intel announced their Dual-Core CPUs early this year. Unfortunately, the 915/925 chipsets don't support Dual-Core. To bring support for DC, they announced the 955X chipset. Today, I'm reviewing the ABIT AW8-Max motherboard based upon the 955X.
