It is really tough to squeeze all those chips in on a top-level motherboard full of advanced features.

The motherboard was almost completely jumper less. There is only single jumper to clear the BIOS and yes, we want that jumper as it makes it easier if you need to reset the board for one reason or another.

The placement of Floppy, IDE and SATA ports are excellent. They place it close to chassis front panel. The main angled IDE port created a small inconvenience after installing the motherboard in a chassis.

It is too close to the bottom and to slide the IDE cable in was not very easy. The placement of the 24-pin Power connector was on the front. Power supply cables should be laid out from all the way in the back of the chassis. So it would be better in the back. Same thing is valid for the extra EZ plug power connector.

All front panel connectors were on the right side of the motherboard, which is a very good place, close to the bottom of the chassis and close to front panel. Only CD-Audio connector placement was in between slots and far from the optical device installation in the chassis. But nowadays it is OK, because most of us don't even install those.

The video card, when installed was not blocking memory slots and the PCI-E 16x slot has a card lock mechanism to secure the card in its place.

The accessories of this motherboard surpass all the motherboards I have ever seen. They provided simply everything necessary and unnecessary to install. Included WinDVD Package is a very nice bundle Software kit. Actually I like the over killing on accessories. A very rich package for a very high-end motherboard is to be had with the P5WD2.
