ABIT is known as one of the top computer component manufacturers in Taiwan. Founded in 1989, ABIT is one of the older computer component manufacturers. They teamed with famous gamer "Fatal1ty" to create a unique set of "gamer-centric" motherboards a year or so ago. Known for their board's overclocking features, ABIT manufactures motherboards based upon virtually every chipset available.
NVIDIA first announced their nForce4 motherboards late last year. At the time of announcement, they announced nForce4, nForce4 Ultra and nForce4 SLI. Today, NVIDIA controls more than 50% of the AMD Athlon 64 motherboard market, and they recently entered the Pentium 4 market with nForce4 for Intel SLI. The ABIT AN8 SLI is the first motherboard from ABIT I've reviewed in a while and it looks like it has some good features and design options.
