NVIDIA's nForce4 platform has a number of features that set it up as one of the most feature-rich motherboard chipsets on the market. Features like NVRAID, NVIDIA's built-in Hardware Firewall, are unique, in providing hardware protection firewalls built into the chipsets. eVGA supports the standard nForce4 feature set. One thing the nForce4 standard doesn't support is the SATA2 (300MB/second) standard.

One of the unique features of this motherboard is the inclusion of 3 PCI Express full-size slots. In fact, there's only one board on the market with a similar configuration. The reason for the extra PCI Express slot is to enable SLI. SLI stands for Scalable Link Interface and allows the motherboard to have two video cards working together to improve performance. NVIDIA announced the nForce4 SLI chipset late last year.

eVGA decided to outfit this board with the nForce4 chipset. To enable SLI mode on this board, requires a little work that can pay off in a big way. Enabling SLI mode is a simple matter of removing the heat sink covering the chipset and connecting two points on the nForce4 chipset.
