We used the latest beta BIOS available and the first thing we did after getting the board back on to the test bed was to flash the BIOS to its latest version. The board has programmable BIOS that will allow update flashing when necessary to the latest BIOS release candidate. The BIOS is the Phoenix design and has a very user-friendly interface that allows multiple performance options for fine-tuning your system options and overclocking your CPU/Memory. You can also increase or decrease the DIMM and CPU voltage, which helps in stabilizing a system when its running in a state pushed beyond specifications. Use increased voltage only as a stabilizing tool as the increased voltage also will increase heat, so if the system is stable without changing the default voltage, leave it alone. All good overclocking ventures succeed better with more than adequate cooling and the best memory available.

With the A8N Deluxe, accomplishing overclocking is achievable in a couple of different ways. Overclocking old-school style from the BIOS gives the user a multitude of control options geared for getting the most performance from your motherboard. Asus also offers their own unique Windows based tool for overclocking called the Asus Ai-Booster that offers increments from 5% through 15% automatically in preset overclocking and seems to work well especially for the timid or those new to overclocking. My CPU is not that overclocker friendly as being an FX-53/4000+ it is already clocked high, so I was only able to garner moderate results using it. All the right tools are available here to get a decent overclocking as long as your system parts permit it. The BIOS also offers system hardware monitoring along with the Asus Q-Fan option that allows control and monitoring of your various system and CPU fans.
