Asus seems to have finally got back on the right track in the AMD platform. The board is rock solid and performed well after a little bit of overclocking. The K8N-E Deluxe offers really good on-board features, especially the included Silicon RAID controller. The ability to use RAID 5 without an additional expensive PCI card is extremely appealing.

The price tag isn't so bad either, placing this board competitively priced against other solutions. For those who find no need for the Silicon RAID controller, there is also a regular K8N version that comes priced even lower. But I must tell you, once you go RAID, you won't turn back.

Although many enthusiasts won't be plunging into the Socket 754 system, many users on a budget will find this platform very satisfactory. This is why I switched my personal system to a Socket 754 platform. The K8N-E is extremely powerful to me and offers good features that won't cost me any more cash that I don't have. The overclocking features are a bit on the weak side, but this board is still a great recommendation.
