Test System

  • ASUS A7N8X
  • AMD Athlon 2000+
  • 256MB Crucial PC2700 CAS 2.5
  • Swiftech MX462
  • Maxtor 40GB ATA133
  • MSI GF3 Standard 64MB DDR SDRAM
  • MSI 52X ATA33 IDE
  • Base System specs

I ran a couple of different stress tests in addition to our usual faire just for kicks and the A7N8X passed all with flying colors. I ran 3Dmark 2001SE in an endless loop for 12 hours straight and SYSmark 2002 for an additional 12. The system slowed down a bit in the last hours of the testing but the system remained stable throughout the entire procedure.

Performance

Performance although not at the very top is still very viable and the board showed strong points in 3D applications in both Open-GL and Direct 3D. All the tests ran without a problem even overclocked to a 2200+. There will only be a few and I do mean few more boards tested under these parameters as me and Niso are changing the entire test setup for both the AMD and Intel platforms. We will be moving forward to using a 2800+ AMD and a 2.8GHz P4 along with 512MB PC3200 SDRAM and a GF4-Ti-4200 128MB VGA card for our next test bed. The overall performance was very solid and competitive with other boards in the same class.
