Amazingly enough SiS has impressed me with this new chipset package and from the results I have seen so far VIA is lagging far behind performance wise with their KT400 chipset which so far looks like a dog when compared to the results seen here. The Pentium platform gets a nice boost with the release of this motherboard and should be a major market success in this arena.

ASUS has come up with a very intriguing product that will have soothsayers and skeptics having to reevaluate their opinion of SiS as for once in a very long time it seems the chaps over there have their collective act together. Working with the Intel giant has seemed to be a very positive thing for this old but thought to be fledging company who have seemed to turn the tables in their favor.

Would I recommend this board? Okay here is the thing the board is fast and has great feature options but the truly cool thing here is the 8X AGP actually seems to function at least close to the supposed spec another failing of the Kt400 chipset which makes for those of you own or want a RADEON 9700 the perfect motherboard at the moment. My RADEON 9700 has found a new home to rest its silicon-based heart.

Serial ATA or SATA is going to be hitting us soon and the P4S8X is ready to move into the future with you coming armed and prepared with dual SATA150 controllers. Faster transfer rates and higher VGA bandwidth will help insure smoother game play better video and DVD performances as well as much faster date transfer times.
