Motherboard: Intel D845EBT Review :: Performance Testing
Stability & CompatibilityYou can review our stability/compatibility testing methods here. Test System
I encountered absolutely no stability problems with the motherboard after setup was completed successfully. All the software and hardware worked flawlessly as did all the torture and performance tests. Like usual Intel has come up with a very stable solution for the P4 and Celeron platform. PerformanceIntel has never been known to be the speed king of the motherboard players their forte has always been in the stability department. This is an arena where Intel has laid waste to its competition chipmakers time and time again due to the fact that they research and develop the CPU's most of us use in our systems. This is the first review to feature our new test program as we have now switched to the most recent versions of our test software. I also tested the D845EBT with both our standard 2.0GHz P4 running @ a FSB of 400MHzand also with the latest 2.53GHz running @ a 533MHz FSB. The board shows a promising performance increase using the 2.53GHz CPU versus the 2.0GHZ solution, which shows the system pulling ahead in all the tests run with the faster FSB CPU. Tests like SYSmark 2002 and the Quake III Time demo 1 show how much of a solid increase is obtainable using the 2.53GHz processor. Overall the D845EBT showed results that place it in the top end percentile of boards tested here at www.motherboards.org and remember the differences in performance scores are only a few points away from each other form top to bottom. Getting an eight of fifteen score in performance still shows the board to be a solid contender in the 845E chipset arena. Did you really expect anything less?
