It is good to see Intel making chipsets that allow decent overclocking options and even better that MSI improved upon the design. On the whole this is a very flexible and performance oriented motherboard. The on-board graphics solution is however only good for the office or industrial environment as for games the 3D engine is not up to par with other on-board solutions such as the N-Force. Anyone who wants intense graphics should use and add-in AGP card to achieve the best results.

Stabilty plays a key role when determing what motherboard you are going to purchase and the MSI 845G Max-L excells in this area making for a very stable platform to begin your system with. If you want simplicity, ease of use and a board that has enough options for the general enthusiast this is a motherboard worth seriously taking a look at. Not quite an award winner as it hovers right on the cusp of that precipe but a solid solution anyways, the MSI 845G Max-L is a very good effort for the Intel Line from the folks over at MSI.
