Honestly, I don't know what happened to the King. I think the competitors did better this time. Our first two boards in the ranking got a couple of points more, and the performance was not so impressive. The lack of new features like USB 2.0 or UDMA 133 may have pushed this board a little bit back. Other than that this board have all necessary features for enthusiasts. 6 channels Cmedia audio was on board. If you choose to use all six channels you have to consume Line and Microphone Inputs.
Ultra DMA 100 RAID, good overclocking features, active cooling on chipset, Auto shutdown on CPU Alarm, Very good package and support leaves nothing to say. I always loved their Internet site. Easy to browse and download. Frequent BIOS updates. They picked up the phone in 3 minutes and answered my e-mail correctly in two business days.
The board is rock stable and reliable. Support is outstanding but we picked up and raced the best boards for this test. Maybe it is time for ASUS to prepare a new killer board for the AMD platform.
